The crystal clear waters of our rivers and ponds, make a great home for these flamboyant fish species. Our most popular type trout are the brown or rainbow. Depending on the trout’s diet, their flesh colors range from white to bright orange.
The brook trout are the only species native to the Maritimes, Newfoundland and Labrador.
These species of brown cannot tolerate high temperatures, pollution, or heavy angling pressure. Rainbow trout are larger and have advantages over the brook trout. There are restrictions up to daily bag limits of 12 or 5lbs.
Once you start this sport you will be hooked. Cook your catch, either over an open fire in the great outdoors, or fry them in a pan, it will leave your taste buds craving for more…...
