Anglers bring your flies and tackle the salmon on this attractive West Coast River. Easily accessible from the Trans Canada Highway, and other roads and trails to make a great outdoor excursion. Thirty mi/48km in length rises into Anguille Mountains, which flows south west to the Cabot Straits 6mi/10km of Cape Anguille. This class two river boasts many large salmon. Early grilse are evident in the popular spot on the river known as over falls.
The Codroy Valley was one of the earliest settled sections on the west coast. The valley is one of the most fertile regions of the island. Sheep, potatoes, buck wheat, hay are abundant. Isolation has preserved the unique culture.
925 hectare area of the mouth of Grand Codroy consists of estuary flats and sand bars. At low tide there are portions of the wet lands covered by eel grass. There are four small wet lands, where by here you can come view, a different array of birds.
Not only can you enjoy salmon fishing at its best, but also experience the natural beauty of a breath taking area.
