Located nearby is Parc “Boutte du Cap” day park and picnic area which overlooks the Gulf of St. Lawrence and home to a large variety of flora and fauna. Also in the park is a traditional bread oven (circa 19th century) which was built by French Artisans in 2004.

Piccadilly Head Regional Park Piccadilly Head Regional Park is an excellent facility with clean campgrounds and picnic sites, a beautiful sandy beach and swimming area, nature trail, friendly staff and a relatively fly-free environment. Located on Route 463 on the Port au Port Peninsula, about 50 kms west of the town of Stephenville, on the French Ancestor’s Route, Piccadilly Head Regional Park located on Port au Port Bay has 50 unserviced campsites and 25 picnic areas nestled in a serene old-growth forest. The Park also offers fossil hunting, shellfish digging, ocean swimming, clean showers, and camp firewood. While in the area you can visit the birth place of Emile Benoit in Black Duck Brook, the hidden falls in Sheaves Cove, and the French communities of Cape St. George, Mainland and Black Duck Brook on the peninsula. The park is open seasonally from the May 24th weekend to Labor Day.

Parc "Boutte du Cap" day Park

Parc Whales, bird colonies, rare plants and a glimpse of the 19th Century Acadian life in Newfoundland are all part of your visit to the limestone cliffs of Boutte du Cap. Walk the gentle incline as the land rises to 700 feet where you can view the kittiwake bird colonies. Spend Friday and Saturday afternoons during July and August (12-2pm) enjoying the smell and taste of freshly baked bread as the traditional communal French bread oven is fired up.
